Amoako Boafo: 2019 Artist-in-Residence

Amoako Boafo was born in 1984 in Accra, Ghana and lives in Vienna, Austria, where he is currently studying at the Academy of Fine Arts. Amoako is a figurative painter in the realm of Egon Schiele in whose footsteps he followed when moving from Ghana to Vienna. He is the recipient of the Strabag ArtAward International 2019 and the Walter Koschatzky Kunstpreis 2017.The paintings on view here were created at the Rubell Museum in the Fall of 2019.
